If he gets bought out, many teams will offer him like a 2-3mill per year deal. He can still produce... its just....NY.....

If Columbus can take the cap hit, then trade Richards for Dubinski or Anisimov and get one of those guys back. Money-wise, Richards deal was front-loaded. A lot of the money is paid out, isn't it? It's only cap numbers to worry about.

Perhaps I am wrong, but trading himisn't too far fetched as we think. Perhaps another Sather miracle is in the works before he moves on and Gorton takes over.

Doubt he gets bought out. He has a NMC but would probably waive it for certain teams. He could be traded for something of value.

Final three years at $1 million per year, meaning there is no way he will continue to play, so you get cap hit in final three years for a guy not playing.

No thank you.

Rangers, who are in well known cap trouble for this coming season

The Gaborik trade relieved them of this well known cap trouble and now with the Richard's buyout the cap is a non-issue for this club for the foreseeable future.

Its not good but if someone could either get him just for picks or sending a semi stinky contract the other way it may be able to get done.

I can't believe I'm standing up for Ek here, but here goes:

You are saying that buying out Richards is a foregone conclusion.

So you are agreeing with the masked roomer man.
